KWINANA HISTORY COMES ALIVE AT KWINANA MARKETPLACE

Come on down to Kwinana Marketplace between Wednesday 25th – Saturday 28th September and see the fantastic exhibition put together by the Year 9, Academic Extension History students from Gilmore College. The theme of the exhibition is an “Historical Narrative of Kwinana” and was made possible through collaborations with the Kwinana Heritage Group, the Deadly Sister Girls, Kwinana Marketplace, Kwinana RSL, Kwinana SES, Kwinana Police, the City of Kwinana, HMAS Stirling, the Education Department, Roger Cook MLA and the World Ship Society.

 Throughout the display the customer will be able to take a trip down memory lane and see life size displays, using mannequins in costumes, museum objects of historical significance and infographics, to bring to life apsects of Kwinana’s rich and interesting history. The display will include sections dedicated to the history of the following in Kwinana – education, maritime, defence force personnel, industry, the Maternity Hospital, the SES, local Police, the Hub, Margaret Fieldman and town planning, agriculture and Indigenous culture.
